Founded in 2024, Crazy Tootz embraces “the glorious fib” in spinning narratives that spark curiosity, ignite the spirit of adventure, and most importantly, conjure imagination!

About HB Wallen

"I adore ghouls, goblins, spooky sounds in the night, and the odd romance."

HB Wallen creates what she calls "visual literature"—a seamless fusion of dark fantasy storytelling and original illustration that has obsessed her for decades. When she can't advance a story, she creates art based on scenes yet to come, letting those future illustrations drive the narrative forward. For HB, separating the art from the writing was simply impossible, so she didn't.

A lifelong artist who has been drawing and painting since childhood, HB spent twenty years writing books with no intention of publishing—until an author she was illustrating for asked the obvious question: "Why don't you publish your own work?" That conversation led to the founding of Crazy Tootz Publishing and a body of work she describes as "a journey into the beautifully twisted, where extraordinary artistry meets bold storytelling that embraces a darker side."

HB writes dark fantasy because it offers the thrill of the frightening without being real. She adores ghouls, goblins, spooky sounds in the night, and the odd romance.

Her young adult serial, The Cursed Carousel, features magical badgers, ghost clowns, and a heartbreaking curse. A lighter tale with a bit of scary compared to her four-book adult serial, The Under Legend. Recommended for mature audiences, the dark tale with gothic spin invites readers to embrace the darkness of the Veilwalker Myth and journey into the Ebonunder—a realm where magical creatures and forsaken beasts have been imprisoned for over 2000 years - until now.
